The Donnybrook Arts and Crafts Group is a community group that not only promotes arts and crafts in the local community, it also fosters social connections and a sense of purpose, promoting community health.

Research shows that being a member of an arts and crafts group - no matter what medium you practice, can bolster mood, improve self confidence, reduce stress, increase mental agility, AND gross and fine motor skills !  It’s wonderful for your long term health and happiness.  It’s a natural anti-depressant increasing your feelings of happiness and life satisfaction .

Being part of the Donnybrook Arts and Crafts Group really is something to love, something to do and something to hope for whilst being part of a community organisation that cares about you.

A little history

A little history

The Donnybrook Arts and Crafts Group began in 1976 and within a year or two it had expanded to include pottery, spinning, weaving and knitting & the rest is history!

The DACG is open to new ideas and possibilities and is always happy to listen to and respond to the needs and interests of its many members.

  • Socialise, unwind and relax in a friendly environment.

  • Enjoy workshops for adults and kids and learn something new..

  • Participate in Midnight Run evenings for every craft and aim to craft until midnight.

  • Enjoy learning and exploring different arts and crafts.

  • Experience the fun and pleasure of creating something.

  • Challenge yourself to learn new skills and/or revive old ones.

Knitting and Crochet

Tuesdays (10am – 2pm)

Wednesday (10am - 2pm)

Mosaic Madness

Thursdays (10am – 2pm)

All Types of mosaics are done including tiles, glass and stones

Pottery and Claywork

Tuesdays (10am – 2pm)

Page Turners’ Book Group

Last Wednesday of Every Month (6:30– 7:45pm)

Saturday Group - Spinning Weaving and mixed arts and crafts

Spinning , Weaving, painting , stitching, knitting and crocheting or any craft you feel like doing, come and join this mixed group.

Workshops

Workshops are held for members and non members to join in on various opportunities to learn something new. Some previous workshops have been, printing, tile painting, abstract art painting, felted soap making, rugmaking, and many more. Demonstrations of different crafts are also done by members at different events.

Special Events

Artisans

Artisans is the public face of DACG and is manned by members on a volunteer basis and is open 7 days per week. The purpose of Artisans is to give members or any member of the public who joins DACG an opportunity to create, sell and exhibit their work. More than half of the members are involved in Artisans . DACG retains a commission from the sales of members art and craftworks and this commission helps fund our organisation.

Sewcial Club - Mend and Make

Sewcial Club or Mend and Make is a sewing night commencing at 6 pm on the second Friday evening of the month.

Midnight Run

A mixed arts and crafts night held on the last Friday of the month. with the aim to do art or crafts until midnight!

The Artisans is a sub-group of Donnybrook Arts and Crafts who came together to create a place where the artistic and crafty creations of the members can be sold in a volunteer run store.
